The Kentucky Mathematics Association of Two-Year
Colleges (KYMATYC) is a statewide organization open to teachers of
mathematics on the college level and to all other persons who share an interest
in mathematics. KYMATYC goals include establishing and maintaining
consistency in course content and placement, dialoguing about the success
and/or failure of innovations, offering professional development opportunities,
exchanging information about available positions, and providing the opportunity
for collegial exchange.
KYMATYC is
active in state decisions about issues affecting the teaching and learning of
mathematics at the community college level and keeps its members informed about
those issues through newsletters and website. A conference is held every
year with locations rotating between state parks. Last year, this event was attended by over sixty
community college faculty and staff from all over the state. This year we are
committed to making it an even bigger success.
We are currently
seeking sponsorships to assist with conference funding and I am writing to
request your support. KYMATYC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and your contribution is tax
deductible. A monetary contribution
will help KYMATYC provide personal and professional development opportunities
to mathematics faculty who dedicate themselves to the mission of our state’s
community colleges and will also gain valuable exposure for your company or
institution.
